NIGERIA : d'Tigers Win South African Invitational Tournament

It was a glorious moment for the D'Tigers of Nigeria as they emerged champions at the just concluded four-nation invitational challenge tournament in South Africa.
The likes of Kenya, South Africa and Mozambique were no match for the D'Tigers as the team inflicted defeat on their opponents.
The four-nation tournament climaxed when Nigeria defeated Mozambique 72-59 in a reverse fixture that pitched the two top teams in the final game.
Markmentors and D'Tigers player, Stanley Gumut, was voted the most valuable player of the tournament after a scintillating display that got the fans captivated all through the tournament.
Nigeria's men basketball team won all four games during the challenge to remain undefeated. This pushes the D'Tigers road trip to five away victories since defeating Burkina Faso in the Afrobasket 2015 All African Games qualifier last Monday.
The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Tijani Umar, congratulated the players and officials for a job well done.
"I want to thank the players and congratulate them, I really appreciate their efforts in putting all their best in the success of this team" he was quoted in a press statement signed by the Teams Media Officer, Akinkunle Bolarinwa.
"The second hurdle is to see Nigeria qualify for the 2015 nations cup in Tunisia and we are looking forward to qualifying for the Afrobasket" he said.
The team is expected to return to Nigeria on Tuesday.
