There are 11 championships between Tiger Head Power and Krishna Falcons. Each time they face off, there are players that show up and show out because of the magnitude of the games. It is always far from straightforward who will emerge victorious.
It was until deep in the fourth quarter that all seemed nothing but done when Norman Blick showed up and showed out for Power from distance. The forward scored game high 20 points off the bench, knocking down 5-of-9 from distance to lead Power (3-1) who trailed most of the game. Guard, Paul Odong added 15 points and Philip Ameny contributed 13 points.
Syrus Kiviiri scored team high 17 points for Falcons (3-1), Steven Omony contributed 15 points but missed a score leveling 3-pointer before Norman finished Falcons off. Peter Elungant chipped in with 10 points and Steven Tumwesigye had 9 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
Meanwhile, Vegetarian (2-2) blew out Nkumba Marines 72-48 led John Otto’s season high 23 points. Richard Ongom and last season’s MVP Ben Okumu contributed 13 points apiece and Grace Adra chipped in with 9 points to go with game high 12 boards. Marines (0-4) were led by Marcus Angolo with 14 points and Roger Kavuma added 10 points.
In the women’s division, KCCA Leopards steam rolled past school side Crane High Ladies 106-9. Martha Soigi, Rebecca Akullo and Angella Namuwaya scored 19, 14 and 11 points respectively to pace the unbeaten Leopards. Terry Nailo had 3 for Crane High.
UCU Lady Canons beat Magic Stromers 56-42 with forwards Purity Odhiambo and Franceas Nabulobi leading the way for Lady Canons (4-1) with 16 points and 11 points respectively. Carol Nyafwono led Stormers (3-1) with 17 points and Jackie Nakafero had 9.
