Emma Nyakweba’s 16 points for last year’s KBF Women league finalists United States International University (USIU) proved very vital for the students who escaped with a narrow 55-54 win over visiting KPA at the Nyayo stadium gymnasium on Saturday.
Flames’ Magnifique Ndanyi had 15 points while Yvone Akinyi managed 16 points for KPA.
In other matches played on Saturday, KPA was on fire with an 84-45 win over students Terrorists; a match in which Terror’s Collins Odhiambo emerged with 14 points.
Samuel Odhiambo and Joseph Owino each had 14 points for Strathmore Blades in another highly charged match against Lions. The match ended 68-52 in favor of the Blades.
