One week after Ndejje University Angels reminded KIU Titans of the road ahead if the latter are to challenge the duopoly of Warriors and DMark Power, the two shared happiness. KIU and Ndejje defeated newly-promoted Vegetarian 63-30 and former champions Nkumba Marines 63-51 respectively at YMCA court on Sunday. While the Ndejje roster has not changed in the past, KIU added guard Salim Ali from Heaters in the days past.
Ali was restricted to seven points and three assists on his debut for the university side that has signed big hoping for a first title. Emmanuel Aupal led KIU scorers with 13 points in a lukewarm performance against a team that offered little with none of the vegetarians crossing the 10-point barrier.KIU players stayed to see how to mark Geoffrey Soro, the hero of Ndejje’s narrow 55-50 triumph last Sunday with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
The answers were not there as Soro continued his meteoric rise with a game-high 19 points and five rebounds.
