Titans plot for surge in Fuba League. KIU Titans want to emulate the Fuba League stage DMark Power have owned on no less than five occasions already. It perhaps helps that they play on the same day on successive match-days. KIU face Heaters, just after Power face Rez Life at YMCA court today. The scenario was similar last Sunday as KIU beat Heaters whereas Power smacked a charged Ndejje University Angels. One lesson KIU want to take is closing out regular season games easily to get to the playoffs for only the second time and possibly win a first title.
Guard Salim Ali, signed from Heaters, will be a key figure to their aspirations. He has managed a paltry total of 15 points in two games. Nimrod Kaboha, the KIU coach, hopes for more from the Kenyan but is more concerned with the entire team. “Our target is to win every game,” Kaboha said. Richard Omondi has stood out for him since joining from Falcons.
Meanwhile, Power have won five and look like contenders for a record-equalling sixth title.
