Much as UCU Canons got a close game they could have done away with, coach Nick Natuhereza only cared about getting their MTN-Fuba League season rolling.

To him, even an unconvincing 59-53 victory over KIU Titans on Sunday night served his targets quite nicely without a host of his cast.
“At the start of the season, you just want to win a game to settle then take care of how we play later on,” Natuhereza said.
Perhaps, he had a point since star guard Sudi Ulanga, who joined the university side from Falcons, missed the game with malaria.
His team was further depleted by the absence of Kenyan centre Robert Ogweno and forward Desmond Owili due to family commitments.
They were not pretty at all but survived Abraham Juma’s onslaught that yielded 22 points and seven assists for coach Nimrod Kaboha’s team.
