24th AFCCM (Classification 5-8): Coop-Bank bow to ASPAC 62-89

Cooperative Bank basketball club of Kenya was on Sunday confine to fight for position 7-8 by ASPAC basketball club of Benin Republic who defeated the Kenyan by 89-62 points.

ASPAC of Benin who were consider and outsider defeated the Kenyan in all four quarters by 26-18, 25-11, 17-15 and 21-18 with ASPAC combo-guard Mohammed Bukar leading the floor with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steal while the duo of Leonne Chadare and Romaric Quenum added 21 and 18 points each

….. As Kano Pillars beat Interclub 85-65

In the other classification also decided Sunday, Kano Pillars basketball club of Nigeria defeated Interclub basketball club of Congo Brazzaville by 85-65 points to set-up 5-6 position battle against ASPAC basketball club of Benin Republic on Tuesday.

Pillars guard, Abubakar Usman led his team with 14 points and 7 rebounds, Williams Ndoumbe recorded 12 points, Kelvin Ninmul scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds while Ibrahim Yusuf added 10 points to complete the beating of the Brazzaville-based side.

ASPAC guard and motivator, Nigeria-born Bukar who now leads other players in the final round of the 24th edition of FIBA Africa Champions Club for Men taking place at the sports hall of Amahoro stadium, Kigali, Rwanda with 154 points scored so far must be at his best to stop the Kano Pillars side from clinching the fifth place, a position it held since 2008 in Tunisia.
