After archrivals and champions DMark Power passed the test of playing so many games over a short period of time, Mogas Falcons will to try to copy and paste the resilience of the former when they play two big games at YMCA Court, Wandegeya in 48-hour spell.

Nkumba Marines will be first hurdle that Falcons will try to overcome today before regrouping for a cracker against Kyambogo Warriors on Friday in the MTN-Fuba National Basketball League. “The biggest preparation for such crucial games is the mental because it’s easy to wither the physical demand but the mind must do the same,” Steven Omony, re-signed for Shs72m from Seychelles’ PSL Hawks, told Daily Monitor.

Inscrutable Isaac and Francis Tumusiime are expected to return from illness having missed the last two games. Falcons, six-time champions, seem to have stepped up this season from their traditional cagey play to a much faster game in order to stay competitive and also beat the 24-second clock and the strategy is paying dividends. “The change in strategy depends on who we play. We can be slow and speed up when need be,” Omony explained.

Coach Timothy Odeke’s Marines, champions in 2005 & 2006, have blown cold most of the season but facing Falcons could motivate his side. Philip Wakimwero and Julius Lutwana must return to their early season for Marines to stand a chance.
