APR stormed the quarter finals of the 14th Fiba Africa Women Club Championships in style after Monday’s 69-57 win over Victoria Club of DR. Congo at Nyayo stadium, Kenya.
This result coupled with KCC’s crushing 105-57 defeat against defending champions, Desportivo was enough to earn the Rwandan giants a quarter finals slot.

Although Victoria claimed the final quarter (20-16), APR’s aggressive start proved decisive.
The national league champions set the ball rolling with a 16-point lead at the interval after dominating the first two quarters; 23 – 13 and 17 – 11.
The third quarter ended in a tie (13-13) to further complicate Victoria Club’s task at hand.
Muleka Ndaya nailed 24 points for the army side while Jocelyn Muhongerwa and Claudette Imanishimwe weighed in with13 points each.

Kalanga Tshinyangu top scored for the Congolese with 23 points.
The victory was APR’s second in the competition after Saturday’s 81-61 win over Uganda’s KCC leopards.
APR, fourth in Group B rounded off their group fixtures yesterday with a clash against CSA of Ivory Coast.
Desportivo’s commanding victory over KCC kept them at the helm of Group B with eight points. Kenya Ports Authority (KPA)’s fairytale run came to an end after a 53-63 defeat against CSA. The result left both clubs tied in second place with seven points.

In Group A, title contenders Primero de Agosto of Angola continued to show their title credentials with a stunning 99-44 win over Kenya’s Eagle Wings.
The result took them to eight points. Nigeria’s First Bank and ABC of Ivory Coast are in second place with seven points while Djoliba kept onto their fourth position despite Monday’s 44-60 loss to ABC of Ivory Coast.
