SEYCHELLES : League action back at Victoria Gymnasium

BASKETBALL action resumed earlier this week after almost a two-week break for the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan indien (CJSOI) Games.

In a Men’s Division One championship match played on Tuesday, challengers Baya got a game-high 31 points from sharp-shooter Jean-Paul Camille in a 92-62 win over Cascade Bullets.

Before the break, leaders Premium Cobras had travelled to Praslin for the first-ever top flight match on the island and they reached the century mark in a 103-57 victory over Praslin Warriors on the Grand Anse Praslin outdoor court.
Defending champions PLS Hawks steamrollered bottom team Razors 136-71 and MBU Rockers beat Beau Vallon Heat 75-45.
It is hoped that MBU Rockers’ Cyril Agrippine will be fit for action against Cascade Bullets today after he suffered a broken nose in his team’s win against Beau Vallon Heat, The swingman was caught by an elbow right in the nose and needed surgery to repair the damage.

In the Men’s Division Two, AAP Brothers beat LMS Youth 76-34, leaders Mont Fleuri Dawgz defeated Cadets 67-34, RA Herons lost 49-58 to Anse Etoile, Juniors beat RA Rockets 93-63 and RA Herons ousted LMS Youth 63-43.

In a Women’s league match scheduled for Thursday, outgoing champions Anse Etoile Stars walked over Juniors.
Competition in all three leagues continues this weekend with matches at Victoria Gymnasium.
