NIGERIA : Deepwater Discovery Battle

The first edition of the First Deepwater Discovery Battle for Supremacy basketball tournament promises to be a thriller when it dunks-off Thursday at the sports hall of the University of Lagos Sports Centre, Akoka, Lagos.

According to First Deepwater Discovery Limited boss, Engr. Babatunde Babalola that all the eight teams (four male and four female) invited for the 3-Day tournament will be rewarded handsomely.
Engr. Babalola told reporters during a press briefing in Lagos last Thursday that each of the eight teams shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250, 000) as participation fees.
He also added that in addition to the participation fees, all the teams would be accommodated in for the duration of the tournament.
The First Deepwater Discovery top-shot also gave a hint that each of the teams shall get a laptop with an inbuilt domain name for the effective dissemination of information about their clubs and for proper achieving.

Winner of the 3-Day Battle for Supremacy tournament which will feature Ebun Comets basketball club, Lagos, Union Bank basketball club, Lagos, Niger Potters basketball club, Minna and Kano Pillars basketball club in the Men category while the women clubs has First Bank basketball club, Lagos; Dolphin basketball club, Lagos; Delta Force basketball club, Asaba and Sunshine Angels basketball club of Akure will receive the sum of Five hundred thousand naira in a winner-take-all tournament.

Engr. Babalola promised that the tournament will become an annual event which will always attract the best top-4 teams in the country from both the men premier league and the women league.

He says the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF should not be left alone in the development of the game in the country.
