TANZANIA : JKT, Chang\'ombe Boys meet in Kili Super Cup opener

JKT start to defend their title today when they play Chang`ombe Boys in the Kili Super Cup men`s opening match at the Indoor Stadium.
The Dar es Salaam Basketball (BD) Information Officer, Michael Maluwe, said yesterday that JKT Queens and Don Bosco Queens would also meet in the women`s match on the same ground today.
He said the league would attract six men`s and four women\'s teams.
Other men`s teams are Vijana, Oilers, UDSM Outsider and Savio. Women`s teams are Jeshi Stars, Cargo Ladies, Don Bosco Queens and JKT Stars.
Men`s winners will be awarded 6.5m/-, a trophy and individual certificates while first and second runners-up will be given 3m/- and 2m/- respectively.
Women`s winners will pocket 500,000/- while first and second runners-up will take home 300,000/- and 100,000/- respectively.
There will be also awards for best player, best coach, best defender and best scorer in both categories.
Meanwhile, Oilers have revealed players who will play for them in the league.
The team`s coach, Salehe Zonga, yesterday named foreign players in the team as Yoni Wanambiro from KCB of Kenya and Albert Lukunje from APR of Rwanda.
Local players in the squad are Alex George, Albert Kasigara, Naftal Msogot, Lusajo Samwel, Ntwa Mwandemani, Philip Haule, Gerald Baru, Amos Mgwasa, George Baguma, Steve Mtemilonda, Godfrey Bayeke, Habib Kassim and Isaac Kimambo.
The team will play Savio on Monday.
