National basketball League reigning champions APR are in for a tough fight this afternoon as they challenge for a play-offs spot with CSK A in their final Pool A tie.

The army-side commonly referred to as the 'Indomitable Lions' lessened their chances after last Sunday's 90-65 defeat at the hands of Marine.

Marine's victory pushed them at the top of the pool with 18points and sequentially sailed them to this year's play-offs. With Marine already through, APR (16) and CSK A (17) are fighting for the other play-offs' spot. Going into today's tie, CSK A have the upper hand after edging APR in the league first round. However, APR's Cliff Owuor is happy to see most of his star players back on court after sitting out last weekend's game due to injury.

"We had a number of players down last weekend but I'm happy to tell you that most of them have recovered and ready for the game," Owuor said with great relief. In Pool B, Espoir takes on Rwanda National University (UNR) while CSK B faces UGB. In the ladies' category, table leaders APR host Fawe while Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) takes on UNR.
