SENEGAL 07 : Mali book grand finale ticket, beating Angola (69-60)

Mali is through to the grand finale of the 20th Africa Nations Championship for women with a 69-60 point’s victory over hard fighting Angola in a keenly contested match at the Marius Ndiaye gymnasium, Dakar, Senegal.

The enterprising Malian with WNBA star, Hamchetou Maiga playing a leading role her side hard won battle over the Angolan won in three of the four 17-16, 16-13, 23-10 and 13-21 with the Angolans staging a late fight in the exciting match which got fans cheering both sides.

Mali centre, Nagnoumba Coulibaly for the second day running led her team in scoring with a double double of 18 points and 15 rebounds, Nare Diawara poured in 12 points, 7 rebounds and one block while her younger sister Djene Diawara added 11 points and 9 rebounds to lift their side into the finals of the match.

Angolan Nacessela Mauricio led the floor with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists, Domitila Ventura contributed 12 points and 6 assists.
