UGANDA : Leopards chasing unbeaten record

AFTER winning 10 straight first round games, self-belief is cropping up in the Kampala City Council (KCC) Leopards camp that they can win the women's National Basketball League title without losing.

Dubbed championship favourites, KCC were unbeaten in last year's regular season but failed to carry the same form in the play-offs. They faltered in the opening game of the semis against A-1 Challenge but squeezed to the finals. Lady Bucks however beat them 3-1 in the final series.
"I think players learn a lesson from last season and they can't afford to repeat the same mistakes. Players have played a couple of international games and I believe its possible to win this championship unbeaten," Leopards coach Mande Juruni told Daily Monitor at the team's training ground in Nakasero Wednesday evening.
