NIGERIA : Decamped Basketballer Pardoned

Reprieve came the way of Akindele Ayodeji the United States of America based Nigerian basketballer who was earlier on Tuesday decamped and sent out of the Nigerian contingent here for unruly misconducts.

Patrick Ekeji, director of sports development at the National Sports Commission confirmed to THISDAYSports yesterday that the leadership of the Nigerian team here decided to tamper justice with mercy and recalled the athlete.

He however warned that misbehaviour of ant type would not be taken from any athlete as Nigeria continue to fish for medals from all the sports yesterday.

After the initial revolt over increase in allowances, Nigerian athletes started to collect the one dollars daily allowance offered by the government.

NSC authority stuck to it's gun not to add a penny to the approved sum and warned that any athlete that refused will only have him or her self to blame as the money will be returned to government treasury on return to Abuja from the Games.
