NIGERIA : 15th AJUBA: Beating Congo Our Priority, Nigeria Pl

Nigeria under 18 players here in Durban, South Africa at the 15th Fiba Africa Championship have resolved to get pass their semi-final opponent, Congo DR on Saturday before thinking of the trophy.

The players who are in high spirit for the all important semi-final encounter choruss that the clash against the hard fighting Congo side is most crucial at the moment, as getting a final berth guaranteed that they will be at next year FIBA World Championship holding in Vancouver, Canada.

Captain of the Nigeria team, Oseer Ikyaator said, “our mind is on how to get passed the Congolese who play more of physical game than technique, all the players are rearing to go on Saturday and it will be a good thing to beat the Congolese side which guarantee us going for the world championship next year, after the semi-final victory we can then think of how to lift the cup.

The team will have it last practice before Saturday encounter this afternoon while the semi-final matches will be beamed live by South Africa based cable network Supersports to the world audience.

Nigeria topped group-B after winning all its four group matches to set up a semi-final duel against Congo who were group-A runners-up at 2.00pm local time while the first semi-final between group-A leader Mali and group-B runner-up Angola.

Pundit have, however, predicted a Nigeria, Angola final going by the robost style of play of the two countries.
