A big third-quarter performance from Louis Habineza helped Falcons recover from an awful first-half to triumph in their key MTN basketball league game at YMCA on Sunday.

Habineza scored 10 of his 14 points in the second-half as Falcons extended their league winning streak to a season-high eight games with a 59-47 triumph over Sadolin Power.

Henry Malinga and Sam Obol added 13 and 11 points respectively for Falcons, who not only maintained pole position on the Yello Max table, but also avenged last year’s 2-0 playoffs defeat by Power.

Falcons were able to continue their winning ways despite converting just five baskets in the second quarter. They also committed eight turnovers in the period that ended with Power holding a 30-22 lead.

Habineza was the driving force in the third quarter, scoring 10 points as Falcons rallied to a 44-36 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
Wilbrod Oketcho scored 15 points and Ken Balyejusa 13 for Power, which lost its third game.
